ORIGIN STORY

It started with one agent.

OpenBuilder began in 2026 as OpenClaw Singapore, a community night for people running a single open-source agent. As the community grew, the conversations expanded beyond that one tool to open models, agent harnesses, hardware and enterprise deployment.

The name was changed to reflect that scope. OpenBuilder is the same community under The AI Capitol, now spanning the full open-source stack: platform-agnostic, vendor-neutral and free to join.

Is it tied to one platform or vendor?+

No. OpenBuilder is platform-agnostic by design. We work across open models like Kimi K3, Qwen 3.8 and GLM 5.3, agent harnesses like Hermes and Pi, and hardware - with partners including AWS, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent, Airwallex and Bitdeer AI.

What happens at a community night?+

Live demos from builders in the room - working agents, harnesses, hardware - then open time to talk, ask questions and show what you are running. No slides-only talks.

Is it free?+

Community nights are free and open to join. School programs and enterprise workshops are separate, with details announced at each intake.

Do I need to be technical?+

No. The room mixes developers, founders and enterprise teams. If you are evaluating open-source AI for your company, you will get as much out of a night as the people writing code.

Can I speak or demo at a night?+

Yes. Demos come from the community. Reach out on LinkedIn or at any night and we will slot you in - bring something real: a working agent, a harness, a hardware build.
